Who we are

Having worked in the Victorian Building Industry for over 30 years as a builder and building professional, Building Projects Advice is established to assist owners and builders with the numerous issues that are encountered during building projects.

Independent advice in the building industry is a useful asset when an owner or builder is undertaking building work.

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS AND APPOINTMENTS:
  • Victorian Government appointed member of the Building Appeals Board (Victorian Building Authority) from 1/7/1994 – 30/6/2000 formally the Building Referees Board.
  • Victorian Government Mediator appointed to VCAT (Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal) Building List as at 22/4/1996 and Retail Tenancies List as at 10/6/1998.
  • Member of the Building Dispute Practitioners Society.
  • Co-opted member of Victorian Government Building Practitioner’s Board (Victorian Building Authority) for inquiries into conduct of Building Practitioners.
  • Member of the Australian Institute of Building.
  • Member of the Australian Society of Building Consultants.
  • Associate of the Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators of Australia.
  • Affiliate of Australian Institute of Management.
  • Victorian Government appointed Commercial and Domestic Builder Assessor for the Building Practitioner’s Board since May 2003. Assessed over 500 applicants for domestic and commercial builder registration.
  • Member of the Master Builders Association of Victoria.
  • Life Member, Past President and Former Committee Member for 26 years of the Master Builders Association of Ballarat.

EXPERIENCE IN BUILDING DISPUTE RESOLUTIONS:

Have been nominated by the Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators to act as an Arbitrator to approximately 100 building Arbitrations and Mediations in Melbourne and country Victoria.

Have undertaken various written reports for solicitors regarding building disputes as expert witness statements.

Managed the construction of numerous commercial buildings including schools, hospitals, libraries, retail, gymnasiums and other public buildings.
